It Started with DK Books, Inc.
Known for “cradle to grave” family reference publishing. Founded in London in 1974, Dorling Kindersley is well known for its illustrated children’s books. The distinctive “DK Style” of book design translates very well into the multimedia format because it is so visual. Global Software Publishing was founded in 2002 as the exclusive publisher of Dorling Kindersley software. We also publish titles under the GSP brand plus Aurimor, our value imprint, DK Spanish language titles and marquee licensing brands such as Rainbow Fish, Miffy and the Little Polar Bear.

“The active participation that CD-ROMs provide closes the gap between actually doing, and the passive world of the book. I sometimes say to people 'how many books do you need to learn to ride a bicycle.' But yet we fall into this trap by thinking that learning has to do with passive information. So for me, the CD-ROM is the most incredible breakthrough in terms of getting people to actively learn.”
-Peter Kindersley
